Approve amendments to the Job Description, Responsibilities and Required/Desired Qualifications of the position of Director of Career & Technical Education, Job Locator:  I-1.1.13.  In the alternative, freeze advertising, posting, application, interviewing and hiring for the position of Director of Career & Technical Education until such time as the Board has considered amendments to the Job Description.

This job description was pulled from the agenda at the meeting of February 21, 2013, with the understanding by the Board and the assurance by the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources that it would be rescheduled for the March Board meeting for consideration in line with the Board's stated objective of rewriting the description and required qualifications.  On the day that the agenda was to be published, members of the Board were contacted and told that this item would not be brought back to the Board for consideration of their amendments.  The Board acted in a specific way at the February Board meeting in reliance upon the respresentations of the administrative staff.  This matter should have been included on the March agenda.  Now the Administration is advertising/posting the position using the old qualifications.  This is not what was agreed upon at the February meeting.
